Tick the clips you want (X), then press ⌘E or open the export tab. Exports go to ~/Movies/OpenClip by default.

Encoding is done by the operating system's own encoders through AVFoundation and VideoToolbox, and captions are rendered with Core Image and CoreText. There is no ffmpeg and no openh264 in the app.
As a measured data point, a 32-second clip exported in about 12 seconds (roughly 2 to 3× realtime) on an M-series Mac. Exports never carry a watermark.
